It appears we’re in for an above-normal 2020 hurricane season on the Atlantic coast:
“NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center is forecasting a likely range of 13 to 19 named storms (winds of 39 mph or higher), of which 6 to 10 could become hurricanes (winds of 74 mph or higher).”
Please do stay safe, above all.
If you live in hurricane country, Mother Nature may decide if you need a new roof. And if it unfortunately happens to your home, here’s what to consider:
- The full extent of the damage: If more than 35% of your roof needs repair, and especially if you’ve had it for more than 12 years, the cost-effective decision is to replace the entire roof.
- Your warranty status: Hopefully your roof is still under warranty. For example, GAF Energy’s warranty covers the entire solar roof for 25 years.
- A solar roof may be right for you: If your roof gets good sun, a solar roof can help pay for itself by lowering your electric bill. Plus, it’s as strong as anything, and is more than ready for the next storm.
We hope your roof makes it through another hurricane season! And that you, more importantly, remain safe and well through the storms.
